Soccer Techniques Clips – Improving Basic Soccer Skills

You can view several soccer techniques clips online to help your players develop basic soccer skills. No player can do without good passing, and you must always include interesting drills that help him or her practice and perfect this technique.

After your players gain possession of the ball, they must know exactly how and to whom to pass the ball. Here it is important to learn keeping the head up and be alert to the movements of other players, while working on ball control and aiming precisely while passing.

Here are some passing skills drills that you can also view as online clips.

Drills For Passing Techniques

  • Let your players form pairs each with a ball. Let them pass the ball between each other, ensuring proper passing and receiving to trap the ball. You can vary this with a one touch and then trapping the ball, trapping with one leg and then both legs.
  • Let your players stand in a circle and practice passing to a player on the opposite side. Make it interesting but placing two players at the center of the circle trying to capture the pass. If they do succeed, the player whose pass they interrupted will swap places with the person in the middle. This is good fun for the players.
  • Here’s a drill that introduces some pressure into the passing technique practice session. After your players form a circle, position one player in the middle of the circle. Introduce two balls, with the players in the circle passing to the player in the middle, who in turn receives the ball and passes it back to another player in the circle. This player passes to the player in the middle and so on. This happens with both the balls in alternation. This keeps the players alert while making them realize the importance of speed in passing. Another player takes the place of the one inside the circle after a couple of minutes. Variations like one touch can be introduced.
  • Let your players divide themselves into groups of three or four and make triangles or squares. The players in the triangle or the square attempt to trap the ball and pass it around the triangle/square in a clockwise direction and after a few minutes change direction to anti-clockwise.

Soccer technique clips can also promote a sense of competitiveness in your team players, encouraging them to work harder.
